Synopsis

  • Players take on the role of Dracula, a mythical vampire who now resides in a fictionalised area of Kingston. The main goal for Dracula is to get ready for an immense battle against a powerful foe called the Hunter Werewolf.
  • Dracula must maneuver the neighborhood’s complexities, connect with its diverse residents, and unravel their stories to collect important supplies and information, which makes blending into the community crucial.
  • Players must carefully consider their course of action as they race against the clock, forge friendships, and make use of Dracula’s supernatural powers to overcome obstacles, unearth secrets, and ultimately stand a chance against the approaching encounter with the Hunter Werewolf.
  • With its rich tale, strategic decision-making, and heart-pounding action, Resimpulse provides an enjoyable gameplay experience. It guarantees an exciting adventure in the world of supernatural beings and a race against time.

Gameplay

  • Play as the legendary DRACULA and engage with a bustling area where no one seems to be aware of a strange secret. Interact with distinctive NPCs that may become prey or become hunters if you reveal your dark side.
  • In order to reach the center, which holds the key to survival, you must unravel the web of interconnected stories.
  • Utilise Dracula’s skills like MESMER or test your mettle by playing the game without any supernatural abilities and utilise the environment as your weapon.

Themes & Influences

  • Bonds and fantasy are the main themes of this project.
  • Life Is Strange, vampyre and other narrative video games served as inspiration.
  • Emphasis was placed on quality rather than quantity open world.
  • Different ways to play the game with key choices to make that determine the course of major characters.

Analysis

We focused on how the events unfold differently depending on the
choices made since we wanted to emphasise actions and their results.

Outcomes

  • With the aid of UNITY and INK by INKLE, we created a VERTICAL SLICE.
  • implemented a buggy walk cycle.
  • implemented decisions and resulting consequences.
